Picking out the perfect Halloween costumes is a giant thing for some moms and something so unbelievably unimportant for others. No matter where you fall on the spectrum, we've curated the (without question) greatest costume recommendations for any mamas that haven't been planning your littles' costumes since approximately November 1, 2021.

Let's get this party started with some eerie-sistible costumes.

#13 — Lazy Mom Lion: While some may be hand-stitching their children's costumes, if you're reading this, we know that is likely not you. (If it is, carry on, mama—we think you rock.) If you're like the rest of us lazy pretty good mamas, you're going to like this simple and practical one from Hanna Andersson. You buy the costume set and the PJs. The classic stripe PJs can be worn all winter long—and the costume is so simple it's also great for everyday imaginative play. Win win win win.

#12 — Teeniest Pumpkin: For all the newborn mamas out there that have no energy to do the whole she-bang this year, this pumpkin bubble for girls and this one for boys are the perfect amount of festive. Slip on a turtleneck and pants or tights if it's cold and bam—a stylish lil' pumpkin for you to delight in all Halloween season. Bonus points if your son is named Jack...because that's funny.

#11 — The Avocado: A baby or toddler avocado. Dressing little kids in food costumes is never a bad idea. Never.

#10 — Little Red Riding Bow Hood: It's the big red bow for me! Add a little black outfit below the cape, give her a basket and voila. She'll be slaying, woodcutter or no woodcutter.

#9 — A Cone: Why this makes me audibly laugh every time I see it, I just cannot say. But this cone is a piece of art and someone must make their child wear it. When you do, please send me a picture.

#8 — Cindy: For a classic princess moment, this Cinderella costume can't be beat for its quality and price point!

#7 — The Future NASA-er: NASA-er is a word, right? Okay, this one I'm coming at from experience. My son had this costume two years ago and it's still my favorite—complete with a light-up rocket pack. The girl version is new and oh so cute, too. Pricey, but worth it.

#6 Chris Kringle, himself: I've tried (and failed) to convince my son for three! straight! years! to be Santa. I can't help but believe this costume would be used countless time from Halloween to Christmas. So practical, so festive.

#5 — Cabbage Patch Kid: I stumbled upon these wigs last year when searching for my daughter's Raggedy Ann (her name is Annie, the pun, yes I did) costume. These are simply and utterly irresistible. It's so cute it's nearly unbearable to look at. Pair with a vintage dress or something smocked that she can wear again.

#4 — Fluffy Flamingo: This is a real contender for my daughter this year. I've loved this flamingo since I laid eyes on it 3 years ago at Pottery Barn Kids. A tiny girl covered in head-to-do with pink fluff. The phrase "I cannot" is truly over-used but...I cannot.

#3 — Super Sibs: If you have some superhero fanatics, channel their main character energy with these SuperGirl and SuperMan costumes.

#2 — Parrot: We're all going to hope and pray this costume comes back into stock because wow it's just the cutest thing I've ever seen. Would be perfect if big brother or sister agrees to a pirate costume...just saying.

#1 — The Oompa Loompa: To give your nostalgia a swift kick in the pants, you absolutely must buy this. It's just too good. 12/10. This Amazon version is also fantastic.
